At the start of May there were red campions coming through all along the bund. By the middle of the month they had been joined by White Campions, masses of Forget-Me-Nots, Hairy Tare, Common Vetch, Kidney Vetch, Fumitory and Birds Foot Trefoil and some splendid stands of meadow Foxtail grass.
A visitor driving along Cowbar late one night saw three baby hares loping along the road. (He stopped and switched his engine off until they had made it into the grassland. What a hero!) The Clover, Oxeye Daisies and Field Poppies are about to bloom now. It looks like June will be just as beautiful as May.
