Recently a large number of sea creatures were spotted from the railings near Cowbar Cottages. Pods of dolphins are often seen from there and sometimes seals or shoals of herring, but no-one could say for certain what these were. Shortly afterwards someone told us that a great number of Minke whales had been observed a mile or so down the coast. These must have been the creatures seen making stately progress past Cowbar.
